About Japanese Recipes.

Hello and welcome to Japanese Recipes!

I’m Mihai, a self-proclaimed foodie and collector of vintage cookbooks. I am also the home chef behind the website and the creator of the recipes shared here.

I love being a stay-at-home dad, with my oldest son in college. My middle son was in the military and now I am a Gold Star dad.

My youngest daughter is still at home and is about to turn 15 and start driving – her sense of humour and creativity are boundless!

My wife and I enjoy cooking together, it is truly one of our favourite things to do as a couple. Many of my recipes were inspired or helped in some way by her.

about-me

What I like best of all is when she does both the preparation work and the dishes!

That shared love of cooking is what led me to create Japanese Recipes, a place to store all my recipes. And of course, to share them! When I look back, I wish I had started many years earlier.

My family and I currently reside in Malaga ( Spain ), literally in the heart of Costa del Sol. I have a fabulous cottage with a beautiful kitchen that no one in their right mind would complain about.

However, I wish it was a light colour instead of the black granite it is. Sigh. Food blogger problems.

Our house is on a small mini-farm which now has my horse, the two dogs and the cat population which has grown after bringing home a kitten found on the road.

The barn is home to my five fabulous cats – it takes a lot of restraint to avoid sharing a photo of an animal in every post!

I hope you enjoy the site, our recipes and photos, and feel free to ask any questions you may have about recipe details. I try to respond as quickly as possible during the week, spending weekends away from the computer and devoting them to quality family time and (weather permitting) some time outdoors.

As I am human, I may occasionally find a spelling or grammatical error. If you happen to find one of these errors, please leave me a note with the page you noticed the error on (or a link or pin to another site?).

Your feedback is greatly appreciated in all areas!
